Pakistan to face India in U19 Cricket World Cup semi-final

Pakistan beat Afghanistan by six wickets in the U19 Cricket World Cup to secure a place in the semi-final.

The side will now play arch-rivals India.

Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first. It was a decision that did not prove favorable for them.

Pakistan’s bowlers put on a disciplined performance as they dismissed the Afghan side for just 189. Captain Farhan Zakhil was the top-scorer with 40 (55) with seven boundaries to his name.

Mohammad Amir Khan was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with figures of 3-58 in 10 overs while Fahad Munir ended with 2-29.

An unbeaten half-century by Mohammad Huraira (64 off 76) helped the side home in the 42nd over.

Peshawar security forces kill four suspected terrorists

The Peshawar Counter-Terrorism Department personnel gunned down four suspected terrorists after raiding their hideout on the Kohat Road Monday. According to the security forces, the suspects were plotting an attack. A cache of weapons and ammunition has been seized too. Headlines 9am: Karachi to face power outages, coronavirus cases rise

Here are the headlines from SAMAA TV’s 9am bulletin. Pakistan has begun reporting fewer coronavirus infections in the last couple of days. In the last 24 hours, 3,964 cases were reported with 105 deaths. Around 73,000 recoveries have been confirmed so far.
