Police bust 11 gangs of ‘robbers’ in Pakpattan

PAKPATTAN: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested as many as 76 robbers, associated with eleven gangs, during raids in Pakpattan, ARY News reported.

According to police, snatched valuables worth over Rs15 million were recovered from their possession.

District Police Office (DPO) Pakpattan Maria Mehmood said 10 Kalashnikovs, 10 rifles, and 30 guns were also seized from the possession of the arrested suspects.

She said they were involved in criminal activities in different districts of the province.

Earlier on, Feb 2, a suspected robber was killed while his accomplice injured in an exchange of fire with police in Pakpattan. A police volunteer and a passerby were also injured in the shootout.

Peshawar security forces kill four suspected terrorists

The Peshawar Counter-Terrorism Department personnel gunned down four suspected terrorists after raiding their hideout on the Kohat Road Monday. According to the security forces, the suspects were plotting an attack. A cache of weapons and ammunition has been seized too.
