The Faisalabad police arrested more than 20 shopkeepers in the localities that have been sealed due to spike in the coronavirus cases.
These men had resumed business and failed to follow the district administration’s instructions. The police initially punished the men by making them stand in the sun for over half an hour.
Six shopkeepers were reportedly booked while others were allowed to walk free after a warning.
Around 25 areas in Faisalabad are under a smart lockdown since June 16. The smart lockdown has been enforced for two weeks.
The administration has prohibited people to come out of their homes unnecessarily.
