Pak-India tension dangerous for entire region: US think tank

WASHINGTON: Expressing concerns over escalating stress between the two nuclear powers in south Asia, a United States’ think tank on Wednesday termed Pak-India tension dangerous for the entire region.

In its report, Council on Foreign Relations, the US think tank, said that the rising tension between Pakistan and India would affect the whole region specially Afghanistan.

Terming the Indian intrusion wrong, the US think tank said that the New Delhi’s action was a ‘dangerous move’ to achieve political goals. The US think tank said that the current situation in very lethal for the regional peace.

Council on Foreign Relations said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government conducted the attack inside Pakistan to get political mileage.

Earlier in the day, two fighter jets of Indian Air Force (IAF) were shot down by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in bright day light, Director General Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor reported.

According to the DG ISPR, Indian fighter jets violated Line of Control (LoC) today, and in a robust response, the PAF destroyed two aircraft of IAF inside Pakistani airspace. Moreover, two Indian pilot has been arrested by Pakistani troops.

Peshawar security forces kill four suspected terrorists

The Peshawar Counter-Terrorism Department personnel gunned down four suspected terrorists after raiding their hideout on the Kohat Road Monday. According to the security forces, the suspects were plotting an attack. A cache of weapons and ammunition has been seized too. Headlines 9am: Karachi to face power outages, coronavirus cases rise
