Armies can't conquer Kashmiris' passion for freedom, says information minister

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Friday advised the Indian government to accept that the Kashmir issue has no military solution. Chaudhry was addressing a seminar of the All Parties Parliamentary Kashmir Group in Islamabad. "[Indian Prime Minister] Narendra Modi just announced that [his government] will give a package of billions of rupees to [Indian Occupied] Kashmir," Chaudhry said. "But independence cannot be bought with money. Independence is a sentiment felt in the heart, a narrative of the heart." The information minister said that India's allegation that Pakistan was instigating unrest in Kashmir had no foundation and the Indian government had only adopted this stance because it was unable to crush the struggle for freedom in the region. ‘1,470 displaced traders in Karachi being given alternative shops’

KARACHI: City Mayor Wasim Akhtar said on Thursday that as many as 1,470 shopkeepers out of 3,575 tenants of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) displaced during the ongoing anti-encroachment campaign were being provided with alternative places for business in various KMC markets. He said that the affected shopkeepers would be given alternative places in Saddar Parking Plaza, KMC Market M.T. Khan Road, Lines Area in front of Parking Plaza, Shahabuddin Market Saddar, Ranchhore Line Market, Frere Market, Khadda Market and Supermarket Liaquatabad. The mayor said that remaining 2,105 affected shopkeepers would be accommodated in the second phase of rehabilitation. “A summary to this effect has been moved to the chief minister and we hope that this will be approved soon,” he added. ECC endorses gifting 40,000 metric tons of wheat to Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has endorsed to ‘gift’ 40,000 metric tons of wheat to Afghanistan, ARY News reported on Friday. The ECC meeting was chaired by the Finance Minister, Asad Umar, in the federal capital. The meeting decided to ‘gift’ 40, 000 metric tons of wheat to Afghanistan, worth rupees 1.73 billion. The meeting also endorsed the release of funds to Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). During last meeting of the ECC, on November 27, t he Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), had approved Gas Load Management Plan for this winter. The ECC had decided for minimum gas load shedding during this winter and filling the gas deficit with Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG). It was also decided that 150-200 mmcfd of RLNG will be injected in the system to overcome the shortage of gas. MBS, Modi meet in Argentina as India looks to find new avenues for oil import

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed the kingdom's willingness to provide for all of India's oil and petroleum product needs during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Buenos Aires, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday. According to SPA , the two leaders met at the residence of the Saudi crown prince — known by his initials MBS — in the Argentine capital and discussed bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries in the various fields.
