Coast Guards seize 350kg hashish buried at Jiwani beach

KARACHI: Pakistan Coast Guards in a raid at Old Marine (Jiwani) area in Balochistan coastal belt seized 350 kilogrammes of hashish, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

The coast guards on a tip-off seized 350 kilogrammes of hashish which was buried along the Jiwani beach.

The cost of the captured high quality hashish in the international market is estimated upto Rs3.45 billion, a spokesperson of the coast guards said.

The drug consignment was likely to smuggle out of the country, officials said.

The coast guards in a raid in January seized as many as 37 kilogram hashish, during checking of a passenger van at Windar Khari check post in Balochistan.

In another incident at Pahore check-post near Hub, the PCG arrested a suspect after recovering 160 bottles of liquor from the vehicle, he was driving.

Pakistan Coast Guards had also foiled a bid to smuggle 75 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine (ice) in December last year and apprehended a suspect in Balochistan.

Heroin seized

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) today foiled a bid to smuggle over a kilogramme of heroin from the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

Accused Jawad Ullah, a native of Charsadda, had concealed the drug inside a plastic stool chair, and was bound to travel Qatar.

Rouhani calls Imran, discusses resumption of trade
