KP Governor’s House opens to public

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on Sunday opened the historic Governor’s House Peshawar for general public.

The palatial building will remain open from 10am to 4pm every Sunday.

The provincial government announced to open the palatial building to public on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

A spokesman of the Governor House said initially the Governor’s House would remain open on Sundays. On the first day of its opening, students of two girls collages would visit the building, however, it would be open to families in future.

Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the provincial capital and chaired the provincial cabinet meeting on Friday. He got a detailed briefing on the performance of the provincial government with regard to his 100-day plan.

He directed the provincial government to open the Governor’s House Peshawar to public.

Another historic structure Balahisar Fort, which currently serves as the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters, would also be opened to general public.

The prime minister directed the authorities concerned to make arrangements to shift the FC headquarters to alternate building.

Peshawar security forces kill four suspected terrorists

The Peshawar Counter-Terrorism Department personnel gunned down four suspected terrorists after raiding their hideout on the Kohat Road Monday. According to the security forces, the suspects were plotting an attack. A cache of weapons and ammunition has been seized too. Headlines 9am: Karachi to face power outages, coronavirus cases rise

Here are the headlines from SAMAA TV’s 9am bulletin. Pakistan has begun reporting fewer coronavirus infections in the last couple of days. In the last 24 hours, 3,964 cases were reported with 105 deaths. Around 73,000 recoveries have been confirmed so far.
